The Monastery’s Old Age Home Stay
For several years, Long-nying Chöling Monastery has been providing food, shelter, and care for elderly people who are left without family support or proper care. The monastery offers them a safe and peaceful place to stay, where their basic needs are met with compassion and respect.
Living within the monastery environment, the elders are able to spend their days in meaningful spiritual activities such as reciting mantras, turning prayer wheels, offering butter lamps, circumambulating temples and stupas, receiving Dharma teachings, and participating in rituals and ceremonies. These activities bring comfort, peace, and purpose to their daily lives.
The monastery provides food, lodging, and daily support for the elderly residents, creating a warm sense of community and spiritual care. However, due to limited facilities, only a small number of elderly people can currently be accommodated. To serve more elders with dignity and care, the monastery plans to build a separate old age home within the monastery grounds.
